The United Nations Foundation
(UN Foundation) announced today the launch of
Nothing But Nets - a grassroots campaign asking
individuals to donate $10 to "send a net,
save a life." Each $10 donation pays for an
insecticide-treated bed net, distributes it to a
family in need in Africa, and provides education
on its proper use to prevent malaria. Founding
partners of the campaign are NBA Cares, The
People of the United Methodist Church, Rotarians
Action Group on Malaria and Sports Illustrated.

Against Malaria (RAM)
Except from the
RAM January 2006 Newsletter - Funds continue to
flow in for the Adopt-a-Village program in PNG
and the Solomons. Many Clubs and groups of Clubs
are making good use of Matching Grants for the
purchase of bednets. Clubs receive Adoption
Certificates via Ron Seddon for PNG; and we will
soon have a similar document and a "thank
you" letter from the Guadalcanal Premier,
for the Solomons program. A very special 'thank
you' to Richmond who is receiving and
acknowledging a large number of cheques very
efficiently.
