REMaRAG stand was number B3-034
Dear
Friends,
I thank you for calling at the
“Rotarians Eliminating Malaria – a Rotarian
Action Group” (REMaRAG) Stand at the Rotary
International Convention in Copenhagen and for
showing an interest in Malaria Programmes.
Speaking personally, as
Chairman of REMaRAG, & on behalf of Vice
Chairman Drake Zimmerman, Secretary Ian Yarker
& Treasurer David Oakes, we were thrilled
with the response & potential involvement
from around the world.
Your continuing interest is
paramount to the success of our combating
malaria & I would urge you all to
periodically visit our website www.remarag.org
to get the latest snippets of information from
around the world which we hope to update on a
regular basis. Also on the web you will find the
Purpose & Objectives of REMaRAG.
You must help initially by
applying for membership to REMaRAG which is $100
for life membership. This supports the efforts
of the committee on behalf of Rotarians
throughout the world & helps in
collaborating & collecting data of Rotary’s
work already in progress. Members will receive a
newsletter through the private members page on
our web. Please send your $100 to me as soon as
possible.
Suggestions for promotion -
such as the very successful stickers at
Convention - are always very welcome. We are
also looking for more area representatives to
speak about Malaria and in particular REMaRAG.
In time it is hoped to establish Country
Committees.
Returning to the Convention -
we (malaria) could not have wished for a better
final plenary session than when Jeffrey Sachs
put Malaria, Rotarians & the World closely
together as the forerunners in beating this
debilitating Killer. A transcript of Jeffrey’s
speech is on our website.
It is my intention to hold our
first REMaRAG Annual General Meeting at the Salt
Lake City Convention in June 2007, when I am
sure we will have plenty to talk about. Please
do not hesitate to contact us if I, or any
member of the committee, can help you further.
The times ahead are very
exciting and in this, our first year as a
Rotarian Action Group, we must “Lead The Way”,
“Lend a Hand” and “Create Awareness” as
“Real Happiness is Helping Others”!!
Please do not hesitate to
contact us if I, or any member of the committee,
can help you further and please I encourage you
to join REMaRAG and to get your Rotarian /
Rotaract friends to also join such an active and
life saving action group - REMaRAG
Yours in Rotary Service &
