The Roll Back Malaria radio drama provided an opportunity to reach a wide audience of over 20million people in southwest Nigeria.

It was aired during the morning belt on very popular local radio stations the medium of communication was in Yoruba and pidgin English – local languages popular all over the south western Nigeria.

The drama analysed malaria as a very deadly disease in children and pregnant women. It emphasized the economic loss especially during the rainy season. It also laid emphasis on methods of prevention and the efficacy of the insecticide treated bednets.

The discussion and phone sessions provided opportunities for further information and education.

The drama has complemented efforts of the government and non-governmental organizations involved in Roll Back Malaria activities.
